Position Description:

Open Source Architect is seeking Java Engineers to join our team. This role will require consulting with customers and assisting them develop solutions using the Core Java, JEE and other Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate and Hadoop. The ideal candidate will also have the ability and motivation to expand into other JEE technologies and frameworks as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in both teaching and training to large audiences.
• Work with customers to consult on Java Technologies.

Required Experience:

• 1 Year of solid Java Development experience

The ideal candidate will also have the ability and motivation to expand into other JEE technologies and frameworks as a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in both teaching and training Spring Best Practices to large audiences.
• Work with customers to consult on the Spring Framework as a hands on technical architect and developer.
• Analyze complex distributed production deployments, and make recommendations to optimize performance.
• Help contribute to community projects and other Open Source initiative, including training videos and developing community reference material.

Required Experience:

• More than three years of Professional Services (customer facing) experience architecting and building applications; Data analytics is a plus
• Strong experience implementing software and/or solutions in the enterprise environment, especially with enterprise Unix or Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with the Java ecosystem and enterprise offerings, including debugging and profiling tools (jconsole, visualvm, YourKit), logging and monitoring tools (log4j, JMX, Hyperic), and security offerings (Kerberos/SPNEGO, SAML).
• Significant previous work writing to network-based APIs, preferably REST/JSON, XML/SOAP and a thorough understanding of JGroups.
• Solid background in JEE Application Server Technology and JEE.
• Extensive background in Databases.

This position will create complex data analysis pipelines using the open source Hadoop platform. Successful candidates will have experience in large-scale, distributed systems to help leverage Hadoop MapReduce to solve big data problems.
